dxgmms1.sys atikmpag.sys BSOD
Hello,
We have a new Dell Alienware machine that has been randomly crashing since day 1. Sometimes the display temporarily freezes and we get a system message saying that the "AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Other times the screen goes completely gray accompanied by a loud buzzer sound and we have no choice but to force the system off. There's no discernable pattern as to what activities cause it. It may occur browsing simple web pages (no heavy games or videos), checking Outlook e-mail, or simply at startup.
Since the system is but a few weeks old, we'd expect to have the most recent drivers. However, we did try installing the full Catalyst Software Suite for our graphics card directly from AMD with no improvement.
I'm attaching our latest dumps and performance report per your instructions. According to BlueScreenView, dxgmms1.sys appeared in 12 of the 13 dumps, and atikmpag.sys in 8 of the 13.
Any help you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated. I'd hate to have to return this system to Dell and cut our losses on all the time we've wasted.
