dont know if this is related to BSOD's, but, the sound, (realtek high def audio) keeps disapearing?? the drivers are installed, and the sound is working perfectly, then you shut down for a while and when you restart it says no audio output device installed?? reinstall the drivers and the sound works again, until you shutdown??
any ideas??

another BSOD at startup, I've uploaded the dump file, again couldnt create perfmon /report as it times out with an error
was thinking of cloning the disk to a new disk to see if it was the hard drive, as did a sfc /scannow and it came back with system file errors some of which could not be recovered, was wondering if the hard drive was faulty??

This last dump blames the windows security processor. There's no way to update this since it's a windows core file and I doubt that's the cause of the crash. You had stated that you ran a system file check and it said that there were errors. You can attempt a repair install and once it's finished run another system file check and see if the errors exist.

Repair Install

Is your sound on board or do you have an actual sound card?

Can you upload a new report. It should show me what kind of errors you are getting with the windows updates.

I think everything is related to the onboard audio. I've just installed a small soundblaster sound card in it, and disabled the onboard, and the sound doesnt disappear any more, and updates are working fine again. Really being an oldish 939 I think its not really worth working on any longer, so I shall tell him to upgrade it sooner rather than later.

So many thanks for your time and effort, it was most appreciated
