Randim BSOD, mostly ntoskrnl.exe

This is really beyond me, built a computer for my friend and it constantly crashing/BSOD. It has no overclock done to any of the components.
Just built it this Feb.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
AMD PhenomII X4 955
MSI 790XT-G45
4GB 2GBX2 Patriot DDR2-800
Kingston SSDNow V+ 30GB
Hitachi 1TB
EVGA 9800GT
All drivers are up to date after March 20th

Almost all crashes' dmp files are related to ntoskrnl.exe, but it can be really general?

I tried OCCT CPU test, and there was error on core 2 (stock no oc), I tried to pump the Vcore still crash once after. Please advise!

These were all virtually identical. Memory corruption. Usually a driver but could be the memory itself

I would

1-run memtest

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

2-run driver verifier to find which driver is causing this issue

I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Thanks for your great info.

Memtest 86+ no error.

Tried Driver Verifier, same BSOD. But it crashes twice before the system succesfully log into windows.

These are the verify drivers.

Before the driver verifier and after memtest, it also crashes/BSOD once when I tried OCCT CPU stress.

attached are the last three minidumps.

I am guessing if it is a driver problem, the fastest solution may be to do a reformat and fresh install of windows to rule out all the bad drivers/files? afterall it was running fine for the first month or so.

Your newest driver verified dump blames KGDaemon.exe. I did a google search and can't find any reference to it. Might be a virus??
Run a malware scan using Malwarebytes. Also do a virus scan using the online Trendmicro Virus Scan.

Please update to SP1 - How to update to SP1

All of the dumps point towards memory corruption. Since you've already run memtest, I'd like for you to run all three tests in Prime95

Your also running low on free space on your C: drive. I would try to free up some space so you don't run into problems.

I went ahead and did a reformat and fresh install of Windows to rule out the possibility of bad files.

Right after the windows, before I started to do the updates and drivers, it crashes, same BSOD. attached is the dmp file.

Please, reall need help here.

Never have this kind of problem with any of my builds before.

Is it likely the error on the CPU core detected by OCCT may caused it? if say the system is clean and the ram actually passed 1 round of memtest 86+

Okay, after 6 crashes, which two of them even crashed before I log into Windows (which I can still able to read one as the usual 4e and one as 1a), I updated all the driver and even AMD's chipset drivers.

Here's the 4 dmps after the fresh install. I really hope this may help to find out the problem. I highly suspect either ram/cpu/mobo is in serious problem.

I only ran memtest for 1 pass, I guess I will run it over nights and couple stress tests on the CPU to see if I'm right.

From the crashes you have been explaining, it's obviously not software/driver related. It's most certainly hardware related, unless the computer runs properly without BSOD's in safe mode. I also suspect it to be the CPU or RAM. Although, the motherboard could have damaged them.

I tried running in safe-mode. I dont have any problem.

Strangely after the last crash before installed the AMD chipset driver (mostly about south bridge and USB filter), OCCT has no error for about 15 mins or so before I cancelled it. It usually gives error between 8 and 10 mins.

I will give it more time to see if it crashes again.

I installed it @ C cuz the SSD, DeanP so you suggest I installed the Windows on the HDD to see if the problem is from the SSD? I will give it a try if it crashes again, I really do hope I can keep the SSD for my freidn.

I am losing faith in AMD parts, I have my i5 750/P55 and my i7 950/X58 running perfectly fine for quite sometimes, and this AMD rig has giving me unbelivable issues.

How much time were you in safe-mode? Safe-mode hardware usage isn't as intense as Normal Mode.
