Various BSOD's

Hi all,

Really appreciate some help here, i've been struggling with random crashes on and off for a few months and i've finally got some spare time to be able to investigate and wondered if someone could lend a hand, i've attached my dxDiag report and the latest crash dump file.

Crashes seem to happen at random although I seem to notice it most whilst gaming.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers

With only one dmp file to go on the info is scarce. One glaring problem is the asacpi.sys file (yours from 2005) it is a huge cause of BSOD's

1-ASACPI.SYS a major cause of BSOD's in the 2005 rev.

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005)

You are currently not running SP1. Upgrading to SP1 could help solve some of your problems

Thanks for the advice, i've install the requested file and checked the date which is now showing as 14/05/2009.

Shortly after I installed the machine Blue Screened again, i've attached the dump log for that.

I'm downloading SP1 as we speak.

It seem's that you currently have driver verifier enabled. Your last crash was due to the ASACPI driver you were updating. Please disable driver verifier until we need it on again

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Once you disable driver verifier and reboot your computer update the ASACPI driver because it did not get updated yet.

Thanks mgorman87 for the advice, i've disabled verifier and updated both the ASACPI and the nVidia nforce network drivers, i've also now installed SP1.

If I get any more crashes i'll post back.

Thanks for your help!

Just wanted to report back and say that i've had no BSOD in over 12 hours which is very rare, I even managed to install and update StarCraft 2 which so far had eluded me, unfortunatly I didn't have enough time for a game.

So thanks again for the help!

Can you upload a whole new report please.

https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

It looks like it this might be hardware related. Please run these two tests and also re-enable driver verifier
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run memtest for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Run all three Prime95 tests for a couple hours each test - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Thanks again for the help, find attached my upto date report I had to run the collection app in safe mode as it kept Blue screening in normal.

I ran Perfmon in normal mode though.

I'll run the memtest over night, but I have tried that before I ran each stick for about 11 passes and no errors.

I've not tried Prime95 before though.
