    Windows locks up after login

I have had this computer up and running with the same LEGIT copy of windows 7 64 bit ultimate since Christmas time this year. All of a sudden the other day it just started locking up all the time. It runs Ubuntu well that is installed on another hard drive. It also boots into safe mode fine. I ran antivirus and malware scans that turned up nothing. I then checked the hard drive for disk errors and it came back fine after multiple checks. I had went into msconfig and made it restart with a clean boot still the same thing. At this point I gave up and had backed up everything and reformatted the drive and reinstalled the same copy of Windows 7 and now have the same thing. I have done multiple hard drive checks, memory tests, I have taken out one of my graphics cards and made it not sli. I have at this point run out of ideas. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

This may be a dumb question, do I need to do that if I do not actualy get a bsod ever? and if so I can generate the report in safe mode? because the computer becomes completely frozen as soon as I enter the password.

Yes. We need that report even if you don't have BSOD. You may also enter safe mode with networking to upload the report.

It looks like Kaspersky is crashing a lot. I would uninstall it and see if you can log in.

I also notice this occurs a lot in your system event logs. This might be due to a borked windows installation. I would recommend a system restore but since this is a fresh install you won't have one. You can attempt to do a startup repair, but I don't know if that's going to do anything.

The remover tool worked and that seemed to fix it. Windows seems to be running smoothly now. Any idea why Kaspersky would cause that to happen? It was installed and working trouble free for three months before the other day.

Thank You soo much for all the help! I +1 ur rep :)

No clue. Windows is weird like that. You can use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus. It works well.

Now that you're able to boot...

Please install SP1 - How to install SP1

If you have anymore issues please start a new thread as I am going to have this one marked solved.
