Help with BSOD

Hello, I recently got a BSOD while playing Crysis 2 for many hours without problems, at first I thought it may have been from my CPU overclock that I have had for about 2 months now without any problems. So to check I ran OCCT Linpack and after about 2 minutes I got a BSOD. So I went into the BIOS and reset all settings to optimal settings and set my ram to its XMP profile(think thats what its called).

With the optimal settings and XMP profile, (I have never had problems with these settings in OCCT tests) I ran OCCT Linpack again and got another BSOD in a few minutes. I know its not a overheating problem, CPU is always below 75c. My comp is only about 6 months old and my windows install is freshly installed about 2 weeks ago. So I dont know what to do and I need help.

I hope this is the right thing im soposed to upload.
Thanks

Nick

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try. Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Thanks for your reply, I'm running memtest atm and I'm going to let it run all night.
If it comes back with 0 errors, what else am I able to do to find out the problem.

Thanks,
Nick

I ran memtest all night (9 passes) with 0 errors. After that I turned off my computer, reset the cmos, and loaded optimal settings again. Once windows started to load I got a instant BSOD I read the stop link and I know its nothing overheating, nothing overclocked besides the ram xmp profile, BIOS is the newest version, this is a fresh install of windows and I believe I have all the latest drivers for everything.

Any ideas on what hardware could cause the problem?

Dont know if its the same error as before but here is the file for this mornings BSOD.

Thanks,
Nick

Uninstall RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner - known cause of BSOD with Windows 7.
1. Timestamped is obsolete
2. XP Software and won't work with Windows 7.

Dump points to Intel Processor - so that means your CPU is likely in fault. Run 3 tests (Blend, Small FFTs and Large FFTs) in Prime95: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Any Overclocking should be stop and return to default values.

Thanks for your reply, sence my last BSOD I have disabled my ram XMP profile and ran OCCT linpack, medium and large data sets for a few hours with no problems. I will stress my cpu more tomarrow sence its getting late here.

Could it be my ram is getting bad even though I ran memtest all night for 9 passes with no errors?

Thanks,
Nick

If Memtest reports no errors - then your RAM isn't in fault at all.

I ran memtest again all night just to double check and again no errors. I have also ran OCCT a few hours with no problems with XMP off. It seems to give bsod when I turn XMP on or manually turn my ram up to 1600. Seems strange that I had no problems with XMP or manually doing it untill that first bsod.

Sence you say its probley the CPU, I guess ill go buy one and hopfully that fixes the problem

Thanks,
Nick
