BSOD, Freezing, Chkdsk Crashing.
Hey
I've recently had a few problems with my computer this morning, I've had this computer for ~3years without any problems. I generally fix computers myself but i'm stumped for ideas without spending money on replacement Hardware.
Now the problem;
- It occasionally crashes when windows is starting up (Windows logo).
- I will occasionally get a BSOD, I've not been able to get much info from it though since it restarts before i can read anything useful, Although i did get "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and i -think- a STOP, I can confirm if needed.
- When i do manage to get into windows, It will just freeze, Completely unresponsive.
- Crashes on ChkDsk.
The steps i have taken to find the problem;
- Changed all of my RAM, Tried single sticks, Changed sockets - It doesn't seem to be a RAM issue(unless all 3 are Faulty)
- I have attempted to do a Chkdsk, It crashed during step 4/5.
- It will still crash/BSOD in safemode.
Now for the computer itself;
- Video card - ATI HD5830 (~4 - 5months old)
- CPU - Q6600 Quad Core
- 5GB 667 RAM
- 500gb HDD (i can check brand if required)
- MoBo - ASUS P5QL/EPU, Cheapish replacement for broken MoBo (4 - 5months old)
- 1000watt PSU.
I personally have a feeling its the HD dying, But i want opinions before i start replacing parts.
Any help on this problem is greatly appreciated, I can't rely on running programs to find the solution i guess since it crashes so much.
Thank you,
