Frequent BSOD Dell Inspiron 1545
I am getting frequent Blue Screen Memory Crash Dumps several times a day. Recently, I replaced the 3GB RAM with different brands of two 2GB DDR2 RAM sticks. The laptop seemed to do just fine. A few weeks after the replacement RAM was installed, the laptop screen was slammed down in a fit of rage by someone, and it ruined the 250GB HDD and the Integrated Webcam. I replaced the HDD with a 320GB HDD but I didn't replace or disconnect the non-working Webcam. I performed a Factory Restore with backup CDs that "The Geek Squad" set up for me after I bought the laptop. Then I started noticing that the NT Kernel & System process was starting to take up 50-56% of my CPU. After a few minutes of that, I would get the Blue Screen with "Dumping Physical Memory" and a reboot. It crashes when the computer even if the computer is idle. A week before today, I started getting more crashes each day. Today (4/7) I believe it has crashed atleast three times. I know it isn't good for the computer but when I've noticed the NT Kernel & System starting to hog the CPU, I would just hold the power button to turn it off (selecting Shut Down would not work as it would just freeze at the "Shutting Down..." screen. Last night I tried inserting the RAM into opposite slots, and tried using each 2GB stick by itself in each slot just to see if it made a difference, and it didn't. And unfortunately, I've been having bad luck finding the stock RAM I had replaced. Can someone explain why this might be? I have been downloading as many updates for my hardware & software frequently, Windows Update, and used Disk Defrags, Disk Cleanups, Registry Repairs, Registry Defrags, all of that good stuff and I'm still having problems. Below is my system specs, and attached is the log for the Kernel Dumps, and a diagnostic report for today. The diagnostic test does show that an "Unknown" Plug-n-play USB device isn't functioning properly reporting "tvConfigMgrErr43". Could that be the integrated webcam? Please help!
