computer freezes

My computer seems to be experiencing chronic freezing episodes. I was having issues with performance and clutter so I reformatted it two days ago. Yesterday it began freezing every half hour or so. I tried various things but the episodes only became more frequent. I just finished reformatting again, and within 5 minutes I had it freeze again.

All I've done is reinstall Windows and install my wireless card drivers. This behavior seems to be a hardware issue rather than a software issue, right? Any point in the right direction would be great, because obviously I can't work on this machine at the moment.

* In an administrators account type cmd in search.
In cmd type sfc /scannow.
This will report and fix minor problems.
Take note of what is said at the end.
Should your computer freeze, try to do the tests in safe mode.

*Go to Event Viewer (type eventvwr in search).
Go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for red critical errors.
Should the be any that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

*Clean boot. You may discover what is causing your problem.
