Windows 7: Multiple BSODs

I've run Memtest for 2 passes, but I will run that some more tonight. I also ran chkdisk earlier, but can run that again, and after that I'll run prime.]

About the antimalware, I recently switched from AVG to MSE, and MSE said that it was completely updated, but I manually installed the definitions from here.

Thank you for your help again, I'll let you know how it goes.

Edit: One other question, should driver verifier slow down the computer noticeably? My computer has slowed down quite a bit since I updated those drivers, to SP1, and turned on driver verifier.

Edit 2:Ran all the tests with no errors (I don't plan on running the most detailed chkdsk test again any time soon it took 36 hours haha). I will keep verifier on for a while but I haven't had any more BSODs since I got rid of VirtualBox. Thank you for your help!

Hey, unfortunately I am back. (Its fine to continue this thread right?) My last bsods were caused by Virtual Box it seemed, and as soon as I uninstalled it the bsods stopped. Now, I have installed VmWare workstation 7, and they have returned. I am assuming that they are the result of some conflict between my computer and virtual machines. After some googling, I haven't been able to figure out the problem. So I am hoping that I could once again get help from you SevenForumers. I really want to use VmWare, and do not want to have to get rid of it if the problem can be solved in another way.

Heres an update. BSODs are not occurring when the computer is first turned on as they were last time, but when I attempt to use the VM. Before I turned on Driver Verifier, my computer restarted without a blue screen while using VMware. Then, I turned on verifier and tried to start the VM twice. Each time there was a BSOD before the VM could finish turning on. If you would like, I can tell you the settings of the VM if that is important.

Unfortunately it is your VMware driver causing the crash. I did a quick search and someone suggested to run VMware in XP compatibility mode. If that doesn't work then you either need to find a different VM software or contact the support.

You may disable driver verifier

More bad news. I tried compatibility and some other random things with now luck, so I uninstalled vmware. I was still getting bsods so I restored my computer to a couple weeks ago before I installed vmware, when I wasn't getting any bsods. (I use paragon for my backup) So, after all that, I am still getting bsods/random restarts. Because some of them have been restarts without blue screens, I only have one minidump for you. I did turn on driver verifer, so I'll post any more minidumps I get.

More bsods, they happened after my computer froze this afternoon, and had A Lot of trouble starting back up. I am thinking that it could have been a problem with the restored image, but I figured I would post the bsods first......

There is only one BSOD in your report but you state that you've had more than one. Looking at your Recoveros file it looks like writing to system event is disabled so I wouldn't be able to see from your event logs if you're having BSOD that aren't creating minidumps

Re-enable driver verifier - Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

I would also like you to run memtest again for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+

STOP 0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

Usual causes: Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Overclocking failure, Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, 3rd party firewall, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack

Windows 7 Profesional 64 bit

Okay, I've been having a lot more problems.... Heres some more minidumps. I'll run the jgriff thing if my computer will stay on long enough, but I will post the minidumps now. Verifier must have been turned off when startup repair did a "restore," so I'll turn that back on.

I think two of the new minidumps said hardware problems, and one said memory problems. I will run memtest again, and If I am unable to I will also try taking out my RAM one by one....

It looks like DV is still enabled (or you just turned it back on). It didn't catch any drivers though. The dumps are blaming hardware but it is hard to say which one. Along with memtest, I would like you to run Prime95 again. Make sure you run all three tests (Small FFTs, Large FFTs, and Blend).
