BSOD 0x00000124 added C300 SSD

Done lots of searching this error typically VTT or VCore related, but I'm not an overclocker??

I have added a Crucial C300 128 GB to my existing machine.
Giga P67A-UD3 B2 , I5-2500k , Radeon HD 4890 , Corsair 650W , WD 1 TB.

I have played BC2 countless hours on my existing setup then added the SSD loaded up all same drivers and after 8-12 minutes of playing I get the BSOD and this is consistent if I restart the computer I can play about 8-12 minutes again over and over. So far only played AOE III no BSOD there and no BSOD for cruising internet.

I did try upping Vcore to 1.25 and Vtt to 1.08 - again I'm not overclocker not sure what I can bump up the voltage for stock speeds??

Obviously something to do with SSD which seems ok and nicely real fast(AS SSD & ATTO), can't be bios, memory, video card, CPU (voltage) related I think since I can dual boot to my HDD and play BC2 with no issues.

Help Please!!

Thanks!!

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Well look at it this way.
You added a new piece of hardware. You get BSODs with this new piece of hardware installed. You take this piece of hardware out of the system and replace it with the older piece, you get NO BSODs.

Simple it is that piece of hardware.
Now it could be how the OS is loaded on that SSD. Did you do all the checks for SSD alignment? Is it aligned properly? If it is then there is something wrong with the SSD.

Hmmm SSD alignment I know nothing of that I'll have to search that topic. I have already read What it means and what to try - done most of it - some not needed since my other Hdd plays the game fine with the same hardware.

The below answer came from Stickman 99 on the EA forums - I uninstalled Easytune 6 and all is better!!

I to was having the same BSOD with 124 error code, leave your poor computer alone. it is not your computer hardware it is punkbuster (they released a new update early march which has caused all of the problems) that is giving you the BSOD. Try playing on a server that does not use punkbuster and your BSOD will go away. Punkbuster seemed to be clashing with easytune 6 (which comes with gigabyte motherboards). Try removing easytune 6 and your BSOD will go away

EasyTune 6 is a known cause of BSOD with Windows 7 - good job on removing it.
