    BSOD on Computer

    CPU-Core i7 920/stock cooler not oced
    Mobo-Gateway TBGM01
    Video Card-Radeon 4850 1gb
HD-Seagate speccy has the serial as 9QK1WMVP
    Ram-Gskill ripjaws 10666
    PSU-Corsair CMPSU-750TX
    Case-Antec 300 Illusion
    Windows 7 ultimate 64

CPU, hard drive, and mobo are all over 2 years old. Ram is about a year old. The power supply is 2 or 3 weeks old.

When the problems started I tried many things to fix it including a reformat so the OS is a mostly fresh install. One of the times my computer crashed it had a long beep followed by 2 short beeps error code upon restart which according to gateway signifies a video card error. I tried stressing the video card in metro 2033 and it didn't crash. Also re-seated the card and swapped which 6 pin was connected and nothing changed.
I have also tried running in Ubuntu and it has not failed in that operating system and it also ran trine fine there not that it is all that graphically intense of a game.

Dumps blames a general hardware error
    Test your GPU with OCCT
OCCT (OverClock Checking Tool) 3.0.0 download from Guru3D.com
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
One of the times my computer crashed it had a long beep followed by 2 short beeps error code
These two beeps indicate a defective GPU

    Test your RAM
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Yesterday i ran the memtest for a full cycle and it didn't report any errors and so far the OCCT has only succeeded in pushing the 4850 to 84 c with catalysts default fan profile but I will leave it run for the full hour and see what happens

The occt thing finished and the system ran fine for the rest of the day until i played a few rounds of HON then exited the game and after i started to browse on firefox crash... GUess i'll try to reinstall windows 7 and see how it does slowly re-adding programs in the hopes something other than hardware with an intermittent problem is at fault. I mean none of the components have shown a fault during a stress test and other than some network lag HON ran flawlessly just like any other game I have tried to play.

I had a different crash when i was trying different graphics drivers and just wanted to see if its error file might reveal more about the problem. It seems that using the 9.12 ccc my computer works with 10.12 i get a 0016 error or something like that and anything in the 11.x range results in the hardware error code

Its the same cause, but this time your CPU is the cause
       Information
Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results

    Code:
    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_MAE_PRV

    BUCKET_ID: X64_0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_MAE_PRV
    Is the CPU overclocked?

No my cpu isn't overclocked I couldn't if i wanted to bios is locked down. Just a question before i run those tests for a few hours how likely is it that which video card driver i have installed has an effect on my cpu and if something is wrong with the hardware shouldn't I crash when i have the 9.12 drivers or when running ubuntu? Then again if its a software problem starting with a fresh install should have fixed it. I find whatever is wrong very annoying.

How long should i run the prime 95 tests for?

Any idea why it would work fine using the older video drivers? I have yet to crash while using the 9.12 ones and anytime i have installed the newest ones to see if maybe it will play nice it crashes.
