Yes. I shut down my laptop after I installed. I'm on it now but it has no sound but I heard that was also because of nVidia.
But regarding to getting pass the post boot up screen it actually didn't take very long but maybe can that be I let the laptop sit for six hours-ish before turning back on. I usually have to wait hours though before turning the laptop on. If I consecutively turn it off and on it will never get pass the post boot up screen.

I didn't post this earlier but should I post my specs or do you have enough you needed to know?

Also, I found this program 'Driver Genius Professional Edition' on my laptop just now and scanned my laptop and it said three drivers are out of date, but sadly it will not update for me. :P

But I just updated my 'nVidia GeForce 7150 / nForce 630M'
The other two needing to be updated is my wireless card and Bluetooth which I presume has nothing to do with my problem?

You said earlier you had a HPdv6700 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Notebooks typically are much harder to work with because they are so proprietary - so I generally prefer it when I can physically get my hands on them myself, rather than via forums.

I have to go back to my first post here, when I asked if it has ever worked right since upgrading from Vista 32-bit to Win 7 64-bit? 64-bit may be your problem. When running 64-bit operating systems, you must use 64-bit drivers.
It might be best to take it to a shop.
