BSOD Issues

Hi,
I've had many problems with blue screening since getting my new PC and using Windows 7 for the first time.
I get these issues every few months or so after windows has updated.

This morning I had 5 Blue screens. Ususally a system restore sorts me out and I get along ok for a while..then another critical update is applied and I may or may not Blue screen agian.

I tried restoring to my last point and then had only a black screen after it told me windows was starting. After a few tries I hit F8 and checked for start up problems. None were detected. I tried a slightly earlier restore and got on fine for about 15 minutes... then another Blue screen.

I am attaching the file asked for..however when I tried to generate a System Health Report it gave me an error saying the path couldn't be found.

Windows 7 64bit
Was installed on my PC when I got it
Original install
Hardware and OS 6 months old

I'd be grateful if there is any evidence to be found in the attachment and some ideas I've not tried as I'm sick of this happening. It does always seem to be after a Windows update though.
Thank you

Hi, I wondered if that might come up. I cannot use another mouse at the moment and I have the correct driver as given to me by a techy helper last time I got BSOD.. there are no other updated drivers for Win 7 64bit :/
It must be the right one as I was given a link. Hmm.
I am looking into my favourite brand of mouse to find more compatible ones for when I can afford to update. Not having a huge amount of luck which is worrying but all say they have compatible drivers. Mine is supposed to be so this concerns me.

I've tried to run the System File Checker. I got the following message..

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Are you performing the steps from the administrator account?

Just because your mouse driver is old doesn't mean it is causing the problems. Until you get a dump that specifically blames that driver then I don't see any harm in continuing to use it.

Update your computer to SP1 - How to update to SP1

Enable driver verifier (if your mouse driver is to blame then DV will catch it) - Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run these virus scans to rule out any infections

I went to double check my mouse driver, downloaded the latest version which states that it has win 7 support and it says it is the one I'm already using.
I will get to SFC in safe mode soon, trying to do other updates atm.
I ran a driver check yesterday. It was taking so long, I had to go out so had to leave it. When I returned there was nothing to indicate if it had finished or results. I assume they will be somewhere you guys can see if required.

Working on all suggestions by mgorman87 now.

I'm having trouble with SP1, I'm going to download it from Microsoft but there is a list of downloads on there for this and I am unsure which I need.

Ok, whichever way I try it, SP1 won't install due to errors. I'm downloading the system ready tool as it suggested.
Would trying this in Safe Mode be advisable here?

What type of errors are you receiving? I don't think you can install SP1 in safe mode.
