Hi and thanks too all of you who help. I have installed windows 7 enterprise 64 three times now. Each time it works fine at first then when I install updates/drivers for my video card ect it gets so slow I cannot even perform a simple click on a desktop icon. I have also had corrupt registry errors come up when I boot in safe mode

Have you been to the asus site and checked to see if any drivers need updating?

There are chipset drivers there - with intel they generally recommend installing them first up before any other drivers 2nd up video drivers then sound and then any other - probably be the same with nforce - try the chipset drivers and see if that ,makes a difference also all your relevant drivers for w7 64 bit are there.

You might find something in the below search also type some words in the search box here at this forum, something may come up similar, or the same as your problem.

will this conflict with the drivers windows installs? Should I remove these first or just download ones from amd sight?

Easiest way first - unistall conficting drivers - install drivers again - fingers crossed it works - if you had of set up a restore point you could of or still could use that - if you need to reinstall windows make sure the first thing you do is to create a restore point before you install anything, and then a restore point before each driver you install - this is the best safeguard and makes you feel safe - although w7 will generally create a restore point with each driver you install - so go into system restore and select restore the system and then check the box to show all restore points and see if you can just restore the sytem back to before the conficting drivers and then install the new drivers.
