BSOD issues

Hello all,

New to forum so please be nice I have seen that all users here are really helpfull so I would appreciate some solid tech help.

I custom built my system about a month ago. My system specs are as per my profile. But to name it in detail; Running a full tower Apevia Jupiter case, 5 case fans (Stock), 1 Noctua NH-C14 CPU Cooler, 1 Corsair Air Flow Fan for Ram Cooling, i7-960 CPU, 24 GB Corsair Dominator 1600 DDR3 RAM (guaranteed to work for my mobo from Corsair), Sabertooth x58 M/B, 5 * 1TB HDD's - 3 are Sata 3 and 2 are Sata 2, 2 Bluray Burners - 1 Pioneer and 1 LG, SB X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro and 2 MSI Twin Frozr II GTX-570's running in SLI. Powered by Thermaltake 875 XT Toughpower. Also, I have a Logitech c910 (USB Webcam) and Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo with Laser adapter all plugged in to USB 2 ports at the back of the PC.

I run Win 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 with all updates installed and have Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (If this makes any difference). I also run the setup with a Belkin N600 HD Playmax Router and have two network storage devices attached to it - 1 * 1TB GoFlex Seagate Drive in USB port of router and one Iomega 2TB NAS drive running on Gigabit port of the router. I have two printers - 1 wireless connected through the router and an older Canon Ip4300 attached to a USB 2 port at the back of the PC (I though I would add this info only if it helps for relevancy). The PC is used for business (mostly) and after hours for games.

Most of the components were installed at the initial system build. The PC ran well without error, with the exception of one BSOD in the first couple of days which was due to some issue with the PC going in to Hibernation which I solved by disabling through power management and running at 100% full power mode with no sleep/hibernation etc on.

In the last couple of weeks, I have installed the two GTX-570's which replaced a GTX-460. No BSOD on this install (removed all previous Drivers with Driversweeper and reinstalled proper GTX570 drivers). At idle and at full load stress with games running at the highest settings levels all running well.

Then added the Noctua CPU fan - motherboard didn't like it on first boot - came up with fan error until this was solved with BIOS config settings. Nil BSOD's after this install.

Few days ago I replaced a PCI SB X-FI Music with the PCI-e Fatality Pro. Before putting in the new card, I removed the old SB drivers with Driversweeper and then installed the new card. The system appeared not to like the new card on boot up as it kept looping through the initial bootup sequence. I had to power off the PC a couple of times before it finally accepted the card and clean booted into Win 7. Win 7 picked up the card, installed the dirvers automatically and then I did the Live Update from Creative with all the latest drivers/software. Nil BSOD's after this install.

I find BSOD's happening when I try and transfer multiple large files from my internal drives to my NAS or to a external 500GB USB 3.0 drive which is also connected to my USB 3.0 port at the back of the PC. If the USB 3.0 drive is left powered on and idling, I have found that (my most recent BSOD) the system appears, for a better word, unstable. At idle it caused one BSOD. Turning this drive off appeared to solve the problem, but I'm not sure if this is the culprit??

I have all updated Windows drivers/BIOS/Hardware drivers installed. Everything is the latest according to Microsoft and my Hardware manufacturers.

Can the USB 3.0 be causing this? I have run memTest, Furmark, Novabench and Burntest (10x test passes for RAM) all of which came back with nil issues on system stability.

I have been assured that the PSU will run this setup with nil issues; does this statement appear correct considering all the items installed or running off of it? With the amount of hardware running from this mobo can the PSU be a causal factor? The BSODs are random, on system idle or when doing transfers with bigger files.

Sorry, I don't have a minidump; the first of the error list which Windows reported was a Stop: 0x00000f4 (or close to this - I know it was an 'f4' at the end of this), whilst the others which I Googled separately, have no record on Google??!!?? New errors?? This can't be, but when I Googled the f4 error I got a lot of hits back with explanations. It's the other one's I'm not sure of. The message from Windows states 'Crucial.... something or rather' caused Windows to stop etc etc.
