    BSOD.. which changes?!

Okay, i'm not gonna be the guy which throws you three words and expects you to tutorial me on how to fix it; But I must say even though I am quite an experience user this is all new to me!

Earlier today my computer got a virus, MS Security Essentials picked it up and removed it. fair enough. Five minutes later, I get a lovely BSOD Saying "INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR". I rebooted in safe mode as anyone should, and nothing happened like this. Ran smoothly. Then, when I booted normally, I got back to business and after five minutes ANOTHER BSOD appears! This time mentioning ataport.sys to be the problem! I can run my laptop in safe mode without a problem, but when in normal mode I can only run for about five minutes and one of those BSOD's catches me. It changes between the two!

Since I can run in safe mode perfectly fine, and one mentions an "INTERNAL_POWER_FAILURE", ive used common sense for this to be flunk and be a virus, but I may be wrong.

I've attached the required dump information from your program, but not the HTML file since it won't run. "The specified path cannot be found" says the perfmon. Probably as im in safe mode.

Can anyone shed light on this?? Any help would be a great one!

    Cheers.

BTW- System specs: Win 7 HP SP1 x86, Not original OS, but Win7 is full retail version. Laptop is ABOUT 2 or 3 years old, but still pretty decent stuff. and my Windows 7 was installed December 2009.

Sorry to have written an essay, just wanted to inform you properly!

    Sam

There are no minidumps in the report, but you stated you had a virus and your getting ataport.sys BSOD? Sounds like a rootkit. Run this rootkit removal tool and report back the results How to remove malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS (aka Tidserv, TDSServ, Alureon)?

Do you need a minidump?? I definitely copied all that was in the folder created by your program :S

And Thanks for the quick reply, but I tried that program but it just crashes at 80% :/

This probably wont be any help, but i thought i'd mention that once the problem started, I am unable to use google chrome? Can't even load up my homepage, it just says 'loading' on the tab which is very unusual.

Does anyone have any other solution to my troubles?? Gonna try finding out why TDSSKiller wont run

(BTW Sorry if this post is classed as bumping my topic)

    Thanks in advance :)

Yeah, I'm always running my computer in safe mode (With networking) as whenever I log on to normal windows mode, I get a BSOD after a few minutes.

UPDATE: New BSOD arrived! waheyy! Something like IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Any ideas?? or how can I try getting TDSSKiller working? I've tried Dr.Web CureIt and Sophos Anti-Rootkit but still the problem persists. The BSOD Even arrises when I shut down (From safe mode)

You had asked if I needed a minidump. Yes, I do need a minidump otherwise I'm kinda blind as to what is going on.

Can you try a bootable virus scan?

Virus Scan with Kaspersky from a Bootable USB Flash Drive

    or

Avira AntiVir Rescue System - Download

    EDIT:
    Code:
    Faulting module name: tjlqfviv.dll_unloaded
I found that in an event log. Doing a google search on that dll returns zero hits so I'm guessing that it is an infection that is causing havoc on your computer

Have you tried doing a system restore to before you started having issues?

Okay, Does the program mentioned in your BSOD posting guidlines usually place a minidump in the folder it creates? Or is there something I don't know about that helps me get a minidump file? If it's your program then I will happily run it again and hope that it creates a minidump, and if not then let me know how to get one? :) I'm pretty sure with the amount of BSOD's i've had, i'm not short on minidumps!

And as for the bottable scan, it seems a worthwhile try but unfortunately i'm on holiday at the moment and I don't have access to a blank CD or a bootable USB (I do have some of each at home; i return Sunday night)

It doesn't look like your event logs are catching your BSOD. It would show that there was a bugcheck and that a minidump was created and I'm not seeing either.

    Make sure minidumps are enabled
    Set MiniDump

you can also search your computer for *.dmp and see if it finds anything

One other thing to do when you clean of a virus or malware is to run an sfc scan (sfc /scannow) and fix any errors found.
