    Random BSOD after a while

    Hi,
I've got a huge problem with my notebook.
After a while, a BSOD appears without doing anything.
It could appear right away, or after half an hour +

I really hope you can help me out here.
I'm using Win7 Professional x64. Just reinstalled it cause i hoped it'd fix the problem.
The first crash was after around 2h while installing some Windows updates.

The notebook is around 2 years old, and was sent to repair once. After that, the BSODs appeared the first time.

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Frank

    Hi Frank and Welcome.

This minidump was somewhat inconclusive as to direct proof of cause. There was indirect information suggesting it was probably caused by your AVG.

You can verify this by removing and replacing it with Microsoft Security Essentials.

    Hey,
    thanks for the fast reply.
It's actually the notebook of my cousin, and she just left.
You might be right with that as there was running a background virus check when the BSOD occured.
Will replace it asap and check back to you.
    Love that forum =)

    Thanks,
    Frank

I would leave your AV alone. It was just the process that was running when your system crashed. That does not mean it caused it.

    Code:

The details view of this entry contains further information.
It looks like you have some hardware issues going on. I would like you to run some tests and report back the the results.

    1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
    2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
    3. Hard drive scan using SeaTools - Both long and short tests
    4. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Download and install your latest nvidia drivers from here
