Display driver stops responding

This morning I started up my machine, but suddenly the whole thing freezed. Oh well, these things happen, I started it again, but after that, the screen went black for a few seconds and the following message popped up "Your nVidia display driver has stopped responding but it was restored". Sometimes it continues to run after that, sometimes the error comes back in a few seconds and kills my PC completely.

I tried everything. I tried new drivers, I tried Windows update, I tired system restore, I tried to delete the driver and make a fresh install. Nothing changed.
I don't think that a fresh Windows install would solve this problem :s

I found forum threads about this problem but they were two years old! This is a brand new configuration, I bought it in February and since then I didn't touch it. It worked perfectly until this morning....

If the computer is BSOD'ing please upload the crash logs (called DMP files) to us.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Here are two DMPs.

I reinstalled the driver with the nVIdia installer which had a function of clean install. This - in theory - uninstalls all the drivers and only then installs the new ones.

Uninstall Daemon Tools. It causes problems on Windows 7.

Run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
3. Hard drive scan using SeaTools - Both long and short tests

Have you tried uninstalling your video card drivers and using older ones? I've been seeing issues lately with the newest drivers and using older ones fixes the problem.

Perfmon test complete.

I star tthe RAM test right now and it ill run overnight, but still I post the performance test, maybe it will help.
By the way, I don't thin that Daemon Tools is the problem. I installed it the day after I installed my OS and they run without error together since then.

I'm runnung Win 7 Ultimate x64, a full retail version.
Bot the system and the OS installation are the same age. I bought a new motherboard, RAM, CPU and PSU in February because my previous mobo died out. I assembled the system by myself (the parts were choosen by an expert who said they should work perfectly together) installed Win 7 on it, so the whole configuration is only about three months old.

Ok. Have you tried installing older video drivers yet?

Nope, I didn't find a place where I can find the older drivers for my card yet. I didn't look for it too much though because I have difficulties with starting a RAM test from the USB - the machine just doesn't accept it as a bootable device and starts Windows instead.

This is going to be a looong and busy Easter :)

OK. So I made RAM and CPU tests, they all passed without any error. I tested my system HDD with all the test possibilities, but there are no errors. Now I'm testing the other drivers, but only the long generic test left and so far no errors. I also deleted the nVidia driver (270.xx I can't remember exactly. The latest version. I think it's the same what comes with a Windows Update dated to March 31st) and removed the remnant files with Guru3D Driver Sweeper. I installed an earlier driver, version 266.58 which is a January version, that mens it's older than my computer.

The problem is still present... What else should I do? Don't tell me that my graphics driver is broken... :s
It seemed OK first, it didn't made the error with Firefox (it did earlier) so I decided to test it on something more seroius and started NFS Shift 2. It crashed when I started a race Elder Scolls IV crashes on loadup. They bog ive the "program stopped working" error message after the - already - usual black screen fo a sec.

Any advice?

Are you able to try a different video card in your computer?

You can try running a video card stress test and report back the results

OK, I made the video card stress test. At least I started it, because it crashed always a few minutes after I started the test. The usual black flash then the test may have continued but I can't be sure, because the program didn't respond and I got back to the desktop.

Then I put in my old Geforce 8600 GTS (I had to install new drivers to make it work), and run the stress test. At least I realzied that I need a more effective colloing system, because the cards heat went up to 95 Celsius...
I also tested it with 3DS Max and Shift 2 and it worked fine. I'm afraid that we've found the problem...

Please tell me that it's possible that not the graphic card is wrong :s
