Hi kiteboy. Sorry your sister's laptop is having problems. I looked at your five most recent dumps. Each of the dumps are stop error code F4, CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION. This indicates that a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated. The dumps blame two different Windows system drivers, which are highly unlikely to be the real cause.

Here is an MS article you can read on this error: You receive various Stop error messages in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 when you resume a computer that has a large SATA hard disk. Please read this and see if the hot fix apples to your situation. Let me know and we will go from there.

Thanks guys

It is a new hard drive - 500Gb WD Caviar Blue
I may have found the issue - had another bluescreen then on boot up had an error saying no hard drive detected

The hard drive caddy wasnt installed!!!! Wot a monkey

Done a chkdsk and has quite a few files that needed recovering but that seems to have done the job along with the hard drive being seated properley

I thought it was some sort of driver issue - hopefully will be ok now
Ill come back if its still occurring
Really appreciate the advise

Those chkdsk errors are a bit worrying. Run chkdsk /r again tomorrow, see if any more errors are shown. If so, we are possibly looking at a defective drive.
