    BSOD: Memory Management, Win7x64

    Hey folks,

I'm getting a memory_management BSOD at random times during my computing - on program launches and closes, on logon/off, just randomly during computer use, I can't see a pattern to them.

Possibly related: Firefox seems to be crashing a -lot-, not even when I launch a new tab or site; it's crashed three or four times just in the course of me signing up to this site and posting this message. I've disabled some suspect addons, will be disabling them all (even my ad blocker! ) shortly.

Possibly related: I've just noticed that Steam games (both source engine and non-source engine) tend to crash randomly as well; most often during a loading session (new map, new area, etc), but occasionally just during normal gameplay).

Attached (hopefully!) should be my minidump and other system diagnostics. Contained within that folder is also the perfmon html report.

RAM seems to check out OK to memtest86+, hard drive seems to be OK according to a boot-time chkdsk scan.

Hope you guys can help me track down this issue.

PS: perfmon report says that I have no antivirus, which is incorrect, i'm running Avira Antivir (free edition), fully patched, and have run a scan. I've also disabled both of the LAN ports on my motherboard, as I use a Belkin F6Dxxxx N150 USB dongle for internet access.

EDIT: System specs were in my profile, copypasting to here for your convenience:

    Custom Build
    Windows 7 Professional x64
    Intel C2D E6550 (2.33GHz)
    Asus P5Ne-32 SLI Plus
    2x 2GB Corsair XMS2
    ATi Radeon HD5770
    Onboard Sound
    Generic 1280x1024 TFT
    2x Seagate 320GB
    Corsair VX450W PSU
    Coolermaster RC-330 Case
Several Noctua 120mm fans, Scythe bay fan

Memory management probably caused by asacpi.sys

1-ASACPI.SYS a major cause of BSOD's in the 2005 rev.

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it. (ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Tools)
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Just installed the latest asacpi.sys, will report back in a day or two on system stability!

    Thanks!

Weird. As an aside, I also re-ran memtest86+, and it found my RAM to be bad. Both sticks, by the look of things. I've swapped out to a known-good pair, and it looks like i'll be RMA'ing the bad set.

    Thanks again!
