BSOD, Stop: c000021a fatal system error
Dear Support,
I have a Sony Vaio VPCZ1 laptop which has been working great up until yesterday. I now have the following problems:
- When choosing to boot normally I get BSOD; STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000000 (0xc0000001 0x001008c8)
The system has been shutdown
- When I run the Repair utility, I get "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically"
- The problem signature is:
Event Name: Startuprepairoffline
Signature 1: 6.1.7600.16385
Signature 2: 6.1.7600.16385
Signature 3: unknown
Signature 4: 21200853
Signature 5: Autofailover
Signature 6: 18
Signature 7: NoRootCause
- System Restore fails with my only restore point with "an unspecified error occured during system restore (0x8000ffff)"
- When I try to run sfc /scannow I get "There is a system repair pending which requires a reboot to complete. Restart windows and run sfc again"
Please can you assist? I have considered the option to use the repair install option. I have seen the warnings and would like to confirm the following:
- Will all the profile information will be kept intact, photos, music, outlook files, etc?
- What are the impacts, caveats for performing this task? What should I backup first?
- Can I copy the profile using User Migration Tools, or the command prompt?
Thanks for your help,
Django
