    Sudden BSOD on newer PC

i got this computer not long ago, it arrived early april. The PC was running like a dream for the first few weeks. I started using Sony Vegas 10 for video editing and that's when it seems the BSOD's started. Sometimes it happens 5 minutes after using sony vegas, sometimes it runs fine for a day and doesn't crash the pc, so i'm not sure if that is the problem just trying to give as much info as i can.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Not wishing to duck out here, but as it's a new computer I'd be inclined to get in touch with Dell to repair or replace your computer while it's still under warranty.

Failing that, have you tried a system restore to a point before you started using Sony Vegas?

i haven't tried a system restore before using vegas, but it seems that it only crashes when using vegas or just after so i wasn't sure if there's an outdated driver or something in the system that shouldn't be causing it to crash with vegas (or other programs that might use the same drivers / resources) or if it's something else. i forgot to mention as well the second harddrive installed the 500GB (488GB) drive i put in myself out of my other computer.

You might want to have a look in the Windows 7 Compatibility Centre for any compatibility issues.

In that case I'm out of ideas other than trying a system restore to isolate the problem.

You might want to start a fresh thread on the Graphics forum in the hope someone more knowledgeable than me can help out.

If it is a OEM machine (dell, intel, etc) then you can probably find it online. If it's not online then you'll need to open the case.
