BSOD Driver Power State Failure...Please Help

Hello, this is my first time posting, so I hope I have met all the requirements. I have ran into the ole' BSOD caused by a driver power state failure. Just to bring you up to speed with what I have done thus far...I started with a system recovery after making a second copy of discs, thanks to freedrivecommander, and re-upgraded to 64bit windows 7 ultimate, upgraded from vista, and it started the same problem again. I have tried to use my hp health monitor to check my drivers and the only one it showed needing updating was one for the IR receiver, so I thought no big deal. I attached the dump file but was unable to run the perfmon / report. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

    Finally found my motherboard info

    CPU Core 2 Duo p7350
    Motherboard Compal 30F7
    chipset GM45/GM47 Rev 7
    southbridge 82801m (ich9-m) rev 3
    Bios HP F.55 date 10/06/09
    Single DDR2 4096b gskill 333mhz
    intel 4 seriess chipset

Please ask for anything else I can provide to help...

    Thanks for reading and helping!!!

These were virtually identical and Related to hpdskflt.sys HP Disk Filter from Hewlett-Packard Corporation. I would re-install it (or remove it completely). I am not a big fan of HP's bloatware and remove it at all costs.

It is no doubt under the HP banner and may take some detective work to find witch. If the computer is still under warranty I would consider having HP fix it.

If not let us know and we will figure out which it is under.

Good Luck and let us know if you need help

Unfortunately it is not under warranty. I've been looking online and found a driver update, however it is about two years old, I'm sure I have that already. If I find that file, should I just remove that, or would that cause more problems?

    Thanks for your continued support.

The date on yours is 4/29/09. I would also (just to be on the safe side) rremove AVG and replace with Microsoft security essentials. One some machines AVG can be a terror.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I found the disk filter in the device manager under system devices, and I uninstalled it as well as avg and installed MSE. I completed a sucessfull reboot with no blue screen, so it looks solved.

    Thanks!
