    Touchpad issue

Hi all, i am facing issue using the touchpad in my laptop. After updating the driver, something went wrong and i have not been able to use the utilities of the device. So, i uninstalled everything regarding the touchpad, but now i can't install the drivers again. The message is something like "cannot find the touchpad" and that's all. In the Device Manager is shown as "Unknown device" and the Windows cannot find suitable driver for it.

Off cource i can reinstall the whole system, but this will be the last option :)

My little machine is Asus EEEpc 1000h :)

    Any suggestions?

Try updating the touchpad by forcing the installation of its driver from device manager

    Hi,

I have allready did that, and i had the following message:

"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver for the device. The driver installation for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later"

I do not know what this means.

Download and install the latest Touchpad driver in Compatibility Mode
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Eee PC 1000H/XP
Unfortunately Asus does not provide any new drivers for Windows 7 for your laptop

You may need to update your BIOS for Windows 7 support.

Mates, i appreciate the help that you provide me, but i have two additional question:

1: When i use the update driver function in Device Man. there is no way to set a compatibility mode...
2: Since i am not able to use my touchpad i am using the mouse, but the strange thing is that the mouse can used only with one of my USB's, and i have 3!!! Do you have any idea why the other two are unusable? When i connect the mouse to the other two USB nothing happens...strange...

    Driver Install - Device Manager
Yes, i have read the tutarial, and the result is that right after starting the driver installation a message appears "Device not found" and that's all.

There is nothing, like drivers to download, in the link that have been posted. As yowanvista wrote, Asus does not support win 7 drivers for my laptop
