BSOD - Post Reinstallation of Windows

My Windows 7 is . . .
- x64
- original OS installed on a self-built system
- an OEM version purchased from NCIX

- The system is less than 1 yr old. (approximately 1/2 year)
- AMD Phenom II x4 955
- Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4
- Powercolor Radeon HD5770
- OCZ 500W PSU
- GSKILL 4GB DDR3 RAM
- The OS is just re-installed.

This is a friend's computer that I helped build, and it was fine for a while, but then he said he was getting random crashes. I thought re-installing Windows would help, so I did, and I did a google search, and found people complaining about ATI's HD5770 video card being sometimes a problem, so I removed the display driver to try and remove a parameter from the equation. The system is with a fresh Windows install, and I know it's missing an Anti-Virus right now. After I can get some stability onto the system I'll install MSE for sure.

The system still BSOD's repeatedly when I run a RAM test: MemTest: RAM reliability tester for Windows for some strange reason, which I found weird because I've also ran the latest version of memtest86, booted from USB, and that passed with no errors.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

I'll get on that when I get home tonight.

Is there anything I have to do to clear the previous BSOD records so I don't upload those again?

Just leave it how it is. It's ok if you upload the old ones.

So I followed the instructions to turn on the verifier, and after the restart, the computer has not been able to boot all the way into Windows. It'll either load the drivers, then go to a black screen, or I will get another BSOD during Windows loading...

I managed to get it into safe mode, and was running the BSOD collection application, went to take a shower, and saw that it had already rebooted by itself again.

Help?

DV didn't catch any 3rd party drivers, which means that there is a possibility that you have hardware issues.

Please run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
3. Hard drive scan usings SeaTools - SeaTools for Windows | Seagate - Both long and short tests

I ran all three tests.

Memtest86 passed 9 times with no errors.
SeaTools passed both short + long tests.
But Prime95 causes a BSOD everytime.

I've tried to re-seat the CPU, and tried again, but it still failed... At this point, how can I make sure it's my CPU and not my Motherboard?

Thanks.

Can you upload a new report?

Were you monitoring your temps when you ran it? Or does it crash instantly?

You may have a bad PSU, CPU, or motherboard.

What type of power supply do you have?

I did not monitor temperatures, but it crashes within a couple minutes of running Prime95.

The computer has:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955
MoBo: Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4
PSU:OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W
RAM: GSKILL 4GB DDR3 RAM
GPU: Powercolor Radeon HD5770

Because after the last series of BSOD's causing Windows to never load successfully, I did yet another reinstall before running these tests. Unfortunately Driver Verifier was not turned on, but no drivers had been installed after Windows installed.
