How old is the laptop? Are you still under warranty?

Try resetting the BIOS to the fail-safe defaults.

I'm not really sure as to why you are having cold boot issues. The only thing I could suggest would be to purchase some different memory and see if the problem continues.

When you first turn on the laptop it should say press something to enter BIOS. If it doesn't, you can hitting the DEL key to get into the BIOS. Once you're in there look for the option to resset the BIOS to defaults

You can try playing with the memory voltages but I don't know much about that and I also don't know if that would do anything since you had been running it fine before. I would try buying new memory and see if that helps.
