    BSOD driver-irql ndis.sys d1 error


    I have had no problems with my system since buying it 6 months ago. Today I am getting BSOD when booting, and am only able to run it in Safe Mode. I cannot run in Safe mode with Networking.

    I have tried a System Restore (no help), run a memory diagnostic (no problems found) and uninstalled the only software I added recently (for syncing an HTC Android phone). But I am still getting the BSOD.

    Your athrx.sys driver is crashing NDIS. re-install with newest version. Also update the below old drivers.

    Thanks for the info.

    I can't locate the athrx.sys driver. There are various other Atheros drivers on the page you linked. How can I tell which is the one I need? I checked in Device Manager and can't figure out which device is the using the athrx.sys file. The only things I have connected are a Microsoft Wireless Transceiver and Microsoft wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

    Also, how do I install a sys file? Beginner's questions, but I don't want to make a bad situation worse.

    Instead of clicking on it, right click and copy the link address and then paste it in your URL windows and hit enter

    To update it, you need to find your network device under device manager and right click and choose update driver software and choose the option that you have the disk and browse to where you extracted the files from the zip

    I found an Atheros driver for my PC model on the Dell site, and also updated a RealTek driver that I saw has caused some people problems. Result - I was able to boot up my desktop for the first time in 8 hours of trying today. It seems to be moving a little slowly, but it's working. Thanks for the help.

    You will find the latest version from the link I provided. When you get around to it or if it starts crashing again, I would install that driver.

    I have attached the zip in case you are having problems downloading it.
