Random BSODs appearing at random
Hi, I'm experiencing some difficulties with my hp laptop.
Some of my system specs are:
System manufacturer/Model Number: Hewlett-Packard/HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
CPU core i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz 4 cores 8 Logical processors
6.00gb RAM
Graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
My Sound Device is ATI High Definition Audio Device
My Os is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.It was already installed when I bought it.
I bought this laptop last december.
The drive I use the most is
Drive C:
Description Local Fixed Disk
Size 443.56 GB (476,268,457,984 bytes)
Free Space 325.69 GB (349,711,704,064 bytes)
Volume Name OS
Volume Serial Number CA5D3C54
My problem is that , for the last two months or so, a lot of BSODs have been appearing. At first, they only appeared when I was trying to shut down my computer. The most frequent stop error causing the BSODs was STOP ERROR 0X0000024, it said something about some problem with the ntfs.sys file and that I should run chkdsk. I did indeed run chkdsk and it said that 'the volume is clean' (which I interpret as my hard drive working just fine ).
However, that hasn't been the only stop error connected to the BSODs, some of the other BSODs were concernin stop errors 0x000007E, and 0X000003B.
At first BSODs would appear sometimes when trying to shut my computer down, but now, it's become totally random. Sometimes I'm just listening to music and the computer makes this awful noise and the BSODs appear. Sometimes I just leave it on and don't do anything and the BSODs appear. The other day one appeared when trying to troubleshoot my audio device, and sometimes they appear when i'm opening a folder or surfing the net.
I really don't know what to do, I have tried uninstalling software such as firefox, google chrome, jdownloader, winamp, virtualclonedrive, and my video codec pack. I have switched from avg antivirus to avast antivirus just to check that the problem had nothing to do with my antivirus software, I've checked for viruses, and it seems that there are no infections. There is something I haven't been able to uninstall which is Creative MediaSource, I press Uninstall but nothing happens.
After uninstalling all of those things, the BSODs keep appearing.
And today I got really scared because, my computer refused to display the desktop after the welcome sign disappeared (the screen went black and I couldn't do anything apart from restarting it using the ctrl+alt+del command ). I don't know if this is relevant, but whenever I start watching youtube videos the computer's temperature rises considerably(if I touch any piece of metal near the fan it kinda burns), and also when I bought it I noticed that both music and videos would skip a lot, which stopped after I disabled the ACPI Control Method Battrey device.
I've attatched the zip file with the necessary folders and files, i ran the perfmon/report
once on May 21st and saved the report, and did the same again on May 23rd, that's why there are two html files.
I would really appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in Advance
Alejandro
