Well ram is actually pretty cheap these days. I would suggest just replacing it.

If you tell me exactly what make and model of computer system you have I can probably point you to a good place to purchase replacement ram at a good price.

Ok I ran the memory test overnight and I got 406 errors...

So I have a memory issue what do you guys recomend?
Have you narrowed it down to one stick by running each stick by itself?

Remember errors can be from the ram, or a bad mobo slot.

find a known good stick of ram and try it in each mobo slot.

This seems rather odd since the memory check returned a obviously bad result (any errors are bad 400+ indicates bad memory in my book)
While the problem could be the memory or the slot on the motherboard it is in. That should remain the target of any further investigation. Testing individual components shouldn't be required beyond the ram and the motherboard itself. No other failing component would return the bad results you received from the memory test.

Good luck to you, we've offered all the support we can on this from here. I would personally just buy a couple of 15-20 sticks of ram and see if the problem goes away before paying someone 100's of dollars to tear down the system though.
