    BSOD strikes: BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER error

    Hi everyone.

I've been getting the BSOD lately, and I was hoping someone could help.

The BSOD always comes with the same message:

    ' BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER '

I followed the forum's BSOD posting instructions and the attached zip file should contain my Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder and my PERFMON HTML file.

It would be great if someone could take a look for me.

    System info:

    Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop

    Intel Core i5 2.27 GHz

    4 GB memory

    I'm running Win 7 / Home Premium / 64 bit / SP1

This is the original OS that came with the system (except I installed SP1)

I guess it's a full retail version of Win 7, because it was pre-installed when I bought the comp

The age of the system is 372 days

    I've never re-installed the OS - so that's also 372 days old

I hope I've given you everything you need! Any help with this would be much appreciated!

    CAGW hi and welcome

Virtually all of these were caused by your usbhub.sys driver. Please run a system file check to verify and repair that and other system files and read here about the problem USB Driver - General Fix for Problems

    thanks for your help JMH.

after running system file check i got the message:

'windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations'

i had a look at the page you linked to but i found the latter part of the tutorial hard to follow... and the last instruction doesn't work!

i assume this isn't the place to ask for help with that though... so i'll ask the tutorial's author
