    BSOD - Lenovo T500

    Hi Gents,

I'm getting a stop 0x0000008E BSOD on startup. I'll get past the login screen, but after a few minutes the BSOD will pop up. Also, none of the icons for my taskbar shortcuts appear -- I just get that "white piece of paper" showing up. I have not installed any new hardware or software lately. I can boot in safe mode no problem.

I'm on a Lenovo T500 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 video card. This laptop is 3 years old and originally came with XP -- I upgraded to 7 roughly 8 months ago and have not reinstalled the OS since then. I have never made hardware changes to the laptop.

The dump is attached. I could not get the system health report to run -- I received an error saying that the specified path could not be found.

    Thanks very much in advance,

    S

Virtually identical and all related to you Kaspersky. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c0000006, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 82a8a7b3, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: 947c0a00, Trap Frame
    Arg4: 00000000

    Debugging Details:
    ------------------

EXCEPTION_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000006 - The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0x%x.

When I run the KSky removal tool that you posted, I get a message saying that no version of Kaspersky can be found. I can't do a manual "add/remove programs" uninstall from safe mode, either. Is there some other way to get KSpy off my machine? Is Microsoft Security Essentials free?

MSE is free and since it is half removed you may have to re-install then use the removal tool to remove it.
