Should there only be one or is this saying it is a 2 dual core system? ive been in the system area and it says the below

manufacturer : advent
Processor: Celeron(R) Dual-Core CPU T3100 @ 1.90GHz 1.90
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (2.93 GB usable)
System type: 32-bit operating system

thanks
This is normal but in order to use all your RAM a 64-bit version of Windows should be used

hey

Well i managed to get a installation disk of windows 7 - Ive booted the disk at started up, let it run through and do its thing, laptop is now running on 64 bit rather than 32 bit as you said would be better. Currently installing all the updates windows finds. Fingers cross this will work and stop the crashing, cross your fingers for me and ill let you know lol

If so its a hardware error, you should do at least 7 passes with memtest
