    Windows Failing to Boot Boot\BCD

Hello, I'm new here, and I have a major problem. I was referred to this site by a friend of mines who received help from this active community. Basically, I have a Dell E6400 Latitude Laptop, and it's failing to boot.

I haven't backed up anything so, I really want to get this working so I can retrieve all my files that are currently located on my hard disk.

When trying to boot, I find an error regarding Boot\BCD Status:0xc00000098 and states that "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

    My problems:
    - Safe Mode doesn't work, when I press F8 nothing happens, it was working yesterday but not anymore
    - System Repair Disk for Windows 7, (my cd drive don't work) so i put it on a USB pen drive. Upon booting system repair, I can't find my windows installation, thus not allowing me to system restore.

NOTE: I tried using ubuntu live cd just to boot and try to access my drive by force, but unfortunately I found no such luck.
Also, I tried with GParted Live CD, and I used testdisk and fixed the MBR.

After trying to fix this problem my USB doesn't boot either now, it just leads to the same BOOT\BCD screen. Please help me, any help will be appreciated. Please and Thank You.

it sounds like the harddrive may be failing on you.

    UBCD for Windows
has a bunch of utiltilities for testing things outside of windows.

And this tool can be used to make it boot from a usb

You do seem to be experiencing a hardware side error though. We just need to figure out exactly which component is failing, right now it would seem it's the hard drive.
