Nothing boots completely??? Comeon...

I have Win 7 32 bit professional installed on an SSD. Win 7 gets to the logo then stops (for hours). I have Norton Ghost and have backup images, i put in the recovery disk and it doesnt boot completely. I tried to use the Win 7 install disk to do a repair and it also hangs in the boot process.

Nothing boots! What the heck is going on? I was able to do a memory test. It was successful.

Right now i am booting CentOS (linux) from a live CD to try and see if that boots.

Any ideas? The machine ran perfectly until this happened. I havent installed new programs recently either. I initially thought it was the SSD but since the machine wont boot from a DVD i dont know.

Help!

How could you do the memtest if you can't boot to CD?

Were you able to boot to the live CD?

The linux boot hung up too.

The win 7 install disk got to the screen to allow a rescue or a mem test. I was able to run the test but when i tried to rescue it hung up before doing anything. I dont think its my dvd drive as it played fine yesterday.

What i dont understand is why the ghost disk doesnt even boot.

Then it's most likely your motherboard.

Ok. Well if you are able to boot to a CD then you either are looking at hard drive or memory. Try booting to memtest and running 7-8 passes on your memory.

Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+

PC boots, but nothing will run
I'm kind of frustrated right at the moment. I came home from work tonight and found my PC had shut down. When I rebooted, all the icons had shifted over to the left, and the first thing I noticed after that was that my antivirus wasn't running. If I click on any icon except the short cut to...
