    Laptop restarts on windows startup

As the title says, my laptop is restarting itself on windows (7, 64-bit) start up. Sometimes it manages to fully load up but then within 10 minutes it will suddenly restart.

I can load safe mode with no issues and even after running it for a period of time it does not seem to shut down. I tried starting it up only the basic microsoft startup services but it still crashed.

I've run chkdsk, startup repair and some hardware memory diagnostic thing and they all came back fine.

Laptop has been in to get serviced and they told me they found nothing wrong with it and sent it back. I start it up and within 5 seconds of it trying to load windows it restarts.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions of how to solve this? Getting very frustrated here and not sure how to fix it.

Oh, also, I've tried to reinstall windows but it freezes during installation.

    Here are some system specs:

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
    System Manufacturer: Toshiba
    System Model: Satellite A300
    Processer: Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @2.40ghz
    Memory: 4GB RAM

    Hello Thugtronik, welcome!
Sounds a bit strange, more must have happened than just what's in your post?
Has this LT never worked well at all? Was W7 64b the first and only OS ever to be installed?
How old is this A300. There are some old ones out there with stuff that is not readily compatible w/ W7 64. NOt saying it couldn't work but it might need some tuning to get it to work well...

Please read the tutorial referred to at the top of this thread and try to upload as much of the info asked as possible in safe mode w/ networking on. Or, if you're not yet up to that, try a sfc scannow option. There's a tutorial for that too.
