BSOD when windows 7 machine goes to sleep

This is a Windows 7 machine 64 bit.
Everytime it goes to sleep, move mouse, it prompts for password, I type it in and it crashes with a blue screen about drivers, it crashes and reboots.
Looking in the event viewer for applications it has kernel errors around the same time as well as bug check critical errors.
I can turn off sleep mode and I move the mouse, the machine turns on and all is fine.
Have tried uninstalling all programs that are not needed and it does have microsoft security essential installed.
