I set the antivirus to scan only on the weekends, so I don't have to worry about that for a few days. And I was a little bit more lack of a better word, aggressive with my internet surfing and going back and forth between that and Tweetdeck. Only more brief video watching, but given that The Daily Show/Colbert Report/Tonight Show will have their new episodes tomorrow, guess I really should get myself to try something longer. So will try the Tonight Show, since I only watch at most 15 minutes, and see what happens there. Can't you tell I'm utterly paranoid here? LOL
No more than the rest of us here

It seems we are down to 2 possible culprits: your AV itself or HW/temps...
Best way to rule out I guess would be to do AV scan at lowest possible temps and see what happens...

Well, I can tell you that it's not the AV by itself. I've had times where it crashed or maybe froze around that time, but yet, there are days that I either skipped it or let it go, and it crashed/froze later. So by itself, no. I did watch a bit of video before and that was okay, but the computer has only been on for ~ two hours. Now, how do you keep temps down? What I mean, is there a way of forcing it? I can have it sit with no programs that I open up myself going, but there will be plenty going in the background that I have no control over. Guess that makes some sense... but I'm still not totally back up to what I would usually do on this computer, so I'm definitely not saying mission accomplished yet...

Good airflow.... and maybe, if up to it (have it) open(ed) up and clean(ed), take out all accumulated dust etc...

Ah, then that might have been a slightly stupid question on my part. LOL Well, I wasn't sure if there was more that could be done. Anyway, well, I'm not fond of the idea of opening it up, but if it's not terribly difficult, and it ends up being something that 1000% needs to be done, well, guess I'll do it.

Sorry I couldn't get on until this morning, but once the evening rolled around, the internet was just a beast to work on -- going to a crawl or nothing at all. That has got to be them, not us, given that it's fine now, was fine for the weekend, generally good Monday, and then ~ peaktime yesterday, nothing. Sure doesn't seem like it would be our connection logically, but what the devil do I know anymore. LOL Anyhoo, another day it stayed on, the temps were around what they have been, though I'm noticing that what I'm calling the rest temp, where I'm not using the computer except for whatever comes on in the background and leaving Tweetdeck open is kind of one or two degrees more than the day before, but then, it has been hotter here the past couple days than the first good day I had, so if that has anything to do with it, there is just nothing I can do. Going to try to watch all the programs that I watch now, started with the Daily Show, then Colbert, then the Tonight Show, and see what happens. I've been watching them on my netbook, but the volume is vastly better here.

Well, I did survive all that, but I didn't seem to survive the windows update. It froze on #8/8... doubt the temp had anything to do with it, but that I'm pretty sure was 144/133. I had to go out, so was going to shut it off anyway, but when it froze I left it off to deal with when I came home. Ah, from what I remember, if it's going to make any difference, which it probably won't, but had Tweetdeck going, just unplugged my PDA to sync the thing... and I really don't remember much more than that. Was on the internet before all that, but not sure for how long. And the last video I did wasn't right before I started all that.

When I came home... now, I don't remember this happening before, but on turn on, you know how you'll get the message that it's configuring, don't shut off, etc. Got that, but the thing rebooted. Now, I didn't get a message saying that it needs to be checked or whatever, it went on apparently normally after that, so I'm not sure if I had a problem getting it on or what.

Yeah, I'm just a fountain of information or help, aren't I? LOL

You're doing great, don't worry! If you want you can upload another set of info as you did before (not just dmp's but everything) and I can check if the update went well or not...

You mean I can still use that little program even if it wasn't an actual blue screen? Well, off to try it anyway, see if anything useful comes up for you.

Scrap that last message - it really did not like the program doing its thing, got a blue screen somewhere towards the end of it, then another as it tried to restart itself. I'm leaving it off for a little bit before trying again, so will get back to you, darn it... I was doing so good too... sigh. Oh, and watch, the internet now will come to a complete stop again this afternoon too... I'm really hating computers right now! LOL
