PC Crashes and Deletes all files on drive with it.

    Hey there,

Recently my Friend's Windows 7 64/b PC crashed, and I wanna fill you guys in on it to see if you guy's can help us. So pretty much the other day, My friend was installing a game on his PC, and then the PC crashed, When he logged on again to see if everything's alright, most of his files were gone, everything on the desktop, and even the "My Documents" shortcuts. The Second time everything was gone, and I'm quite sure that's including the OS. And I'm not sure if it was during, or after Installation. Since we're Video-Game Developers, It can screw up alot of things, including your emotional and mental state, because it'd be really crappy to see you're 24/7 worked on Project, Vanish before your eyes. So Please, Do help with anything you can.

    Sincerely

It sounds suspiciously like a virus nuked your friends hard drive ... if you can still boot into safe mode, you can attempt a system restore to a point before all this happened... otherwise you will probably need to reinstall... Aslo, since both of you are developers, I assume that you have made system images of your OS drive to avoid problems like this ...

    Good luck..
