A completely different angle: check you powersettings and, specifically make sure ALL energysettings per device (i.e. mouse, keyboard and network card) are NOT set to "this device can wake up... "

Post back if you need help on this..

Thanks, tried it but no difference.

The computer seems to shutdown alright, it is only when I try to switch users (immediate reset) or when I try to logoff (gets to the logoff screen and then resets) that I have a problem.

It seems to have trouble getting to the logon screen although on boot up it goes to that screen fine.

This wouldn't be an issue for me except I use remote desktop a lot and everytime I try to log on remotely it resets the system.

Thanks

Can you please try using teamviewer as a test?

Tried logging off in safe mode and it works OK. Could be a driver issue. What is the best way to troubleshoot drive issues?

Thanks

Driver verifier. Have a look at: Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers
