    Frequent BSOD under normal use


    x64 Windows 7 Ultimate
    OS installed after purchase of the system approx 6 months ago
    Full retail OS

    ASUS M2N-XE ACPI BIOS Revision 0211
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ Speed 2.72 GHz
    DRAM Clocking - 800MHz
    No overlocking


    It's a bit of an odd one that I can't get my head around. I have a PC that I use for its Media Centre Capabilities and originally it was based on Vista. Since the upgrade to Windows 7 its stability has declined, this appears to have gotten even worse since we moved house (!).

    Attached is the zip of the dump files. Windbg suggests a hardware problem and looking at various forums people say that the power requirements for Win7 are heavier and that I need to alter my BIOS settings for cpu and memory power. Just wanted the forum to confirm that my reading of the dump is accurate.

    Your getting a hardware level error.
    None of those minidumps are complete the driver data is cut at about half way on all of them.

    However, the specific bug message you're getting is usually from a overclock that has become unstable. (in which case you need to restore defaults)
    Or actual failing hardware.

    that's the problem with this kind of error. Trying to track down the culprit. It could be cpu, moterboard, ram.
    If you have more ram slots on the motherboard than you have ram You might even try moving them to different slots.
