    BSOD after force shutdown

This maybe unrelated but here it goes. I done a full system backup with Acronis and after it completed, I then shutdown the PC. It then started to validate the new backup, with the "operations in progress" appearing. Anyway, I had to use my PC urgently so did a force shutdown.

PC booted up as normal and I carried on using it. However, when I went to system shutdown, a BSOD appeared. I looked at the mini dump file and it appears to have been caused by ntoskrnl.exe & tcpip.sys (which maybe totally unrelated to the above shutdown).

I have attached the dump file to see if someone can help me.

    Thank you

    Hi happyhammer7 :)

It seems that your Razer Tarantula Keyboard Driver cause the bsod.

So please try to update the keyboard driver http://www.razersupport.com/index.ph...20&nav=0,77,20

Please post back with any results.

It seems that your Razer Tarantula Keyboard Driver cause the bsod.

So please try to update the keyboard driver Razer Support

If that doesn't fix the problem then completely remove the keyboard, uninstall software/driver and use/test with other keyboard.

Thanks for the quick response. It's actually a Razer Lycosa, not that it makes much difference :)

I am currently running the latest 3.02 driver & firmware for this keyboard. Saying that, one issue I did have was the Touchpanel media controller only recently stopped working with iTunes. There drivers seem flakey at best.

Anyway, just out of curiosity mate, what tools do you use to check the dmp file. Would be good to know for personal testing in the future.

    Ok i fixed my post

As for the dmp check you can use the Download and Install Debugging Tools for Windows

If you have again any new bsod, you can also try to,completely remove the lycosa, uninstall software/driver and try/test with other keyboard.

Did a complete uninstall of the razor keyboard and reinstalled again with latest driver.

I then ran Driver verifier. I selected all non-Microsoft drivers and it crashed again (no BSOD but it created a mindump) on Lycosa.sys driver. I ran it again selecting all but the razer & Microsoft drivers and it did not crash at all and no BSOD.

Seems that it is definitely the keyboard. But where do I go from here? I know I can use another keyboard but does not really solve my problem. Can this be caused by physical faulty hardware?

Maybe, though some hardware and software are not compatible with win 7.

If you have warranty take it back and ask for other keyboard.
