    Repeated System Service Exception BSOD


    Seven forums post
    I have an HP Envy 17 3d which I purchased in late March of this year. Since then I have had a few pesky blue screen errors pop up. I wasn't concerned as I planned on installing a fresh copy of W7 Pro x64 on an SSD I bought. However, I continued to have the error on this fresh installation. I then did some memory testing which led me to a stick not being properly seated. I thought that resolved the issue, but my blue screen issue returned today. I have the old OS on the drive and am attaching dumps from both installs. The system is approximately 4 months old.


    Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM – 4 month old install, came with computer, on HDD
    Windows 7 Professional x64 Retail – Less than 1 month old, on SSD

    All of these were caused by your video subsystem (probably driver). I would re-install the newest using this method.

    When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

    When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

    Should I go to AMD's website and grab the most recent driver there or the older one on the HP website? AMD only lists a general 6XXX series driver. The laptop supports switching between the ATI card and the Sandy Bridge intgrated, and I don't want to lose that functionality. Thanks for the help reading the dumps.

    I personally would go to both. I would try the HP first but if it didnt resolve the problem the AMd would be next
