BSOD, plug & play issues and startup problem

Hi all, can anyone help- i have the following errors.

1. Bluescreen - details attached

2. I tried to download amd overdrive (stupidly cos i didnt realise it was already part of catalyst cc which is installed). Installation caused the computer to bluescreen and since then it will not boot up unless the boot cd is in. Power on- goes to first screen showing amount of ram, etc...; second screen appears titled hardware configuration (as normal) but instead of moving on to boot windows it just sits there with a flashing cursor. rebooting and sticking the cd in causes it to ask 'boot from cd/dvd?' i just ignore it and then i can get in fine.

Any help mucho appreciated.

You can go ahead and turn driver verifier off for now, it's actually causing you extra crashes.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

You are running several very old drivers, one seems to be related to your monitor.
Anyhow driver verifier may actually be causing most of your startup issues here.

Code:
DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000013a, Incorrect Verifier Pool Tracking internal value.
Arg2: abed8e70, Address of the pool block being freed.
Arg3: acc90600, Incorrect value.
Arg4: abed8008, Address of the incorrect value.

Thanks- but still have startup problem

Thanks very much,

with driver verifier i didnt realise you could turn it off. I followed the steps here to disable driver verifier but i still need the DVD in to boot. Hopefully this has solved the BSOD issue but does anyone have any ideas on the boot problem?

Sometimes it's caused by a motherboard issue.
My older system in the den actually does the same. I just left a old vista disc in it. It doesn't care what bootable media is in the drive so long as something is there.
Anyhow it's possible it's a setup issue in which case you want to try this.
(you'll probably need to let it run several times)

Problem with Non-plug and play drivers [stop responding]
