We need to do one thing at a time, if not you'll never know what the problem really was....
Please first do the 7 passes of memtest...post back results and we'll see from there..

Memtest86 ran 7 passes and found 0 errors. the ram is good, but for some reason it just doesn't like to work in my PC. i currently have my back up ram in temporarily.

Sorry, want to be sure I understand correctly. These memtest86 runs have been with your backup memory? And went fine? So are you sure your system bsods with this mem in?

Sorry for the confusing post lol. memtest86 tested my 8GBs of patriot ram, which locks up my PC. after the test i put in my back up ram just so i could do some things.

No it does not. the old ram works great, its just slow lol.

just want to clarify something, not to correct you or anything. my PC doesn't BSOD. it just completely locks up. the mouse doesn't move, keys do nothing. it just stays there 100% froze. i have to hard reboot it to fix it.

Thanks. but what do i need to do? do i need to up the volts and change the timings from auto to the numeric value? this is getting a little beyond my knowledge so bare with me if i get confused about something lol.
