Yep, read the thread carefully and see second to last post. 7,7,7,20 and the rest auto. If you're unsure or dont want to risk it. Best thing is to take in a shop and do it with them...know you might not want to hear that but it is very difficult to give you warranty kind of help from this distance....:)

My Patriot ram has specs like this:

    DDR2 800MHz
    5-5-5-12
    1.9v

each stick is 2GB and i have four of them.

i understand that its hard to provide help from a distance but this is new turf for me. i dont know if some settings can break the ram or other parts. what would you recommend to change to get the ram working.

I just set my timings from 5-5-5-12, to 5-5-5-15. I was borrowing my brother ram a while ago and it had those timings. His ram didn't cause problems so I figure I will see if the same timings will work for me. I didn't change and voltage. I'm running prime95 to see if my PC still locks up.

I locked with the new timings. I increased increased te voltage from 1.9 to 1.99. Timings are still 5-5-5-15

Those last setting failed to fix the problem. I'm trying 7-7-7-20 now. The voltage is 1.99.

7-7-7-20 with voltage of 1.99 was also unsuccessful.

I have an idea. Tomorrow I will set the timings and voltage to match my backup ram and see if that works. Although the back up ram is single channel and my patriot ram is duel. I don't know if that makes a difference with how I should set the timings but I give it a try.

5-5-5-31 is the timing of my back up ram, when I set my patriot ram to those timi g it seams to be stable. However, it was very much slower lol. I took a look at my brother's ram spec and it turns out I was wrong about his timings. His are 5-5-5-18 @ 2.1v. If my timing on my patriot is default set to 5-5-5-12 @ 1.9v, wouldnt it make sense to up the voltage to 2.1 or more? I'm gonna set my ram timings to 5-5-5-18 @2.1v and see what happens.

I talked to ASUS and they said that the ram IS compatible with my mobi. I also talked to my computer repair guy and he said that it might be that the ram is getting to hot. A new case might be a good idea.

I'm back to 5-5-5-12 and I think I found a voltage that is stable, 2.110. I haven't locked up. I'm gonna let memtest86 run all night to check the ram after I messed with the voltages. It appears that the ram just needed some more juice lol. I'll post tomorrow.
