I ran the Memtest all last night. The first error came up in a few minutes and there were more by morning. I did not take the further step of testing individual memory sticks as it is not easy on this model to access RAM and if it is possibly a warranty issue, I figure I should go to Asus before messing with taking the computer apart.

Does this indicate faulty RAM? Is this something I should take up with ASUS as it should still be under warranty?

Yes, if you're getting memory errors with memtest86, you should get it replaced by ASUS. I've dealt with them before (see my thread). You have to pay for shipping it to them, unfortunately, unless you got it from best buy, then you bring it to geek squad, but those guys aren't as good. Make sure you give them all the information you got from memtest86.

With memtest you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM,or a bad motherboard (memory slots).

Memtest started and finished with errors,in that case? Yes use your warranty and ask for a free replace of the faulty hardware.

Thanks for all the help. ASUS is going to take it back for repair and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will be able to take care of the problem.
