BSOD on Win7 Pro 64 bit - Sony Vaio

    Hi Guys,

I am puzzled as to whats causing this BSOD.
It happens randomly, but frequently - but no particular usage pattern.

    Is Windows 7 Pro
    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64 bit
    - the original installed OS on the system? Y
    - an OEM or full retail version? Full
    - OEM = came pre-installed on system
    - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? 1 year
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS? 6 months for Win7pro.

Prior to this: Had OEM Win7 Home Premium - same BSOD occured then too.

Attached are the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder & the PERFMON HTML file

Would be grateful for some help!

    Thanks!

BSODs caused by the Intel Wireless WiFi Link Driver, update it using either the Intel update utility or get a newer version from Sony's website
    Intel® Driver Update Utility
Sony eSupport - Electronics - Select Your Model

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

    Hi Yowanvista,

Great!! Thanks! Its not crashed in the last 24 hours.
I think the sptd was the main culprit.

I tried using the newer version of sptd - that the removal util suggests, still same problem. But once got rid of it - all was well.

    So thank you very much!

ps: for anyone else having same problems, it seems sony's drivers are all outdated!
I ran driver genius - and they revealed drivers 3-4 years old!

    Hi Yowanvista,

Oops. It crashed again! This time i saw the message "kernal_inpage error"

Drivers are all updated, no sptd used...

I've attached the files - if you could kindly take a look.

    Thanks very much

    Hi Yowanvista,

I ran the memory test several times - it didnt show any errors.
So i removed and re-inserted the RAM anyway. It did seem a lot more stable - it didn't crash in 3 days, until today.

So I collected all the info again!

    Puzzling!

    Many thanks!

    CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION (f4)
The CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION bug check has a value of 0x000000F4. This indicates that a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated.

Meaning that something such as malware, some unstable programs or bad hardware may be the cause
Run a scan of Malwarebytes and SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Also run http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...loads/seatools

Note that this BSOD is mainly caused by a bad Hard Drive, a RMA would be required
