Windows 7: System crash while running DX9 games

When requesting the RMA, just describe that the system crashes with the current card, but not with another nVidia card.

There's no telling about specific issues on a graphics card. Test equipment/programs (if available) would be much more expensive than a replacement card - so there's no need for that sort of testing equipment/software.

Windows 7 64-bit

Hi Kadeem,

Did you manage to narrow down/fix your issue? I ask because I am having a very similar experience. Specifically, I've noticed that DX9 games stop working after 5 minutes or so of playtime, sometimes more. The most telling evidence was with Crysis, which can be run in DX9 or DX10 mode; when running in DX9 mode the game would freeze within 9-10 minutes but in DX10 mode it would run just fine. Unfortunately, other games like Half-Life 2 don't have a DX10 mode (that I know of) and so I simply cannot play them for extended periods of time.

My system specs are quite recent (i7, Asus Z68V-Pro motherboard, AMD Radeon 6950, 8GB RAM). I find it interesting that we have different video cards but the same problem, which makes me believe it is not a hardware incompatibility.

Anyway, if you have resolved your problem please let me know how you did it as it will save me a great deal of time.
