Please HELP LOOSING MY MIND

So i have Windows 7 64 bit and without installing anything recent or downloading anything at all i got a blue screen saying memory management . later on the day i got several more blue screens saying bad pool header , pfn list corrupt, and last i got was special pool detected memory corruption. Now when i turn my computer on windows starts to load but as soon as it should to my desktop screen the screen goes black and all i can see is my mouse cursor. I tried getting in with safe mode and same problem . Just a black screen after the windows logo. I'm really not sure what to do at this point since i cant even get into my computer ( using my girlfriends laptop to write this ) please help! Much appreciated

First thing: is this a laptop or a desktop?

Its a desktop. I bought it pre built about a year ago. Newegg.com - CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1076 Desktop PC Intel Core i5 760(2.80GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit thats the one i bought. If u dont want to click the link a piece of useful information u might need is it says my motherboard is Intel H55 and i have 2 sticks of 2gb ddr3 memory total. Thanks for answering so quickly

On the comments page for your rig there are people complaining of similar issues. The first thing I suspect is faulty hardware.

Do you know what BRAND that 700W power supply is?

Are you comfortable working inside the case?

If you are try this:

Turn the computer off, disconnect the power supply cord (or flip the switch on the back).
Use proper grounding precautions: touch the metal part of the case before handling any parts inside the computer.
First: remove and then replace the RAM sticks - make sure they make good contact, check for dust/hair/ etc, and that they click all the way into the slots.
Reconnect the power and try and start up.

If that doesn't work, try installing just one stick of RAM in slot A1 and test. Try the other stick if necessary too.

brand of psu xtremegear. made sure they were both well placed no dice. tried both memory sticks by themselves in the first slot. and once again no luck

One thing to try is Memtest Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
Download and burn the iso to CD (Precompiled Bootable ISO), or try the NEW file for USB stick. Boot the computer with either media loaded. It runs without Windows.
Run it for at least 3 passes (overnight - takes a while).
You should get no errors.

Those errors, if not RAM, could be caused by a failing power supply. Check all the power connections carefully.
Could you find a power supply to borrow to test to see if this is the cause?

I ran the test last night since i had read to give that a try and after 7 passes i had 6656 errors ( i took a picture of the screen before i turned off the pc). Should i bother trying it again? If u think its the psu i could probably try buying one?

It sounds like you have a bad stick of RAM (you shouldn't get any errors), but it is possible that power supply issues can cause those errors too.

If you don't have a local computer shop where they can swap spare parts out just to test it then you have to pick your poison and try replacing one or the other and see what happens.

If i do need to purchase a new PSU or memory sticks which would you recommend? not really sure how many rails or any of that i really need on my psu which is why i went for the pre built pc . and for memory as long as its ddr3 and 240 pin they should all b compatible with my system? Also i got a friend with an old computer so i think his memory sticks are ddr2. Can i try those out in my pc? and see if they work? or does it have to b ddr3 only. Thanks for the help!

No! The sticks must be DDR3 and they should be matched to your motherboard and processor. Most manufacturers have a Qualified Vendors List that tells you what RAM has been tested good for your motherboard.

I really like the idea of borrowing someone's power supply to test.

But if you want to buy one I would recommend a Corsair 750W TX version. (Because that's what I have
